1. Public Trial Right
Under Article III, Section 14(2) of the 1987 Constitution, an accused is guaranteed the right to a public trial. A public trial satisfies constitutional standards when courtroom doors are open to the general public and press to observe judicial proceedings without unreasonable restrictions. However, a public trial is not synonymous with a publicized trial. The constitutional guarantee aims to prevent secret inquisitorial trials, ensure fair administration of justice, and maintain public confidence in judicial integrity, rather than converting court proceedings into commercial media spectacles.

2. Television Coverage
The Supreme Court strictly regulates or prohibits live television and radio broadcasting of criminal trial court proceedings. Live media broadcasting creates a pervasive probability of prejudice by distracting trial participants, subjecting witnesses to intense public pressure, and subtly influencing judges. Furthermore, broadcasting cameras and media equipment risk transforming solemn courtrooms into theatrical venues, creating a circus atmosphere that jeopardizes the accused's fundamental right to due process. Consequently, denying live television coverage preserves the impartiality and fair administration of justice without violating constitutional rights.

3. Right to Information
The right of the public to information on matters of public concern under Article III, Section 7 of the Constitution is not absolute and does not extend to live media broadcasts of ongoing criminal trials. The public's right to be informed about judicial affairs is fully satisfied by allowing print journalists and members of the public physical access to attend, observe, and report on court proceedings. Live televised coverage is an unnecessary intrusion that compromises trial solemnity and must yield to the paramount interest of ensuring a fair and impartial trial.
