For five days, Felipe, Julio and Roldan kept Mildred in the house and took turns in sexually assaulting her. 1. Special Complex Crime
Under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 7659, when a person is kidnapped and detained, and is raped on the occasion or in the course of the detention, the crime committed is the single, indivisible special complex crime of Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention with Rape. The law treats the abduction, illegal detention, and sexual assault as one composite offense carrying a single penalty, eliminating separate convictions for kidnapping and rape.

2. Implied Conspiracy
Under Philippine criminal law, conspiracy exists when two or more persons come to an agreement concerning the commission of a felony and decide to commit it. Express agreement is not required; implied conspiracy may be inferred from the collective acts of the accused before, during, and after the commission of the crime, showing a common design and unity of purpose. Continuous assistance, such as driving the getaway vehicle and providing daily supplies to maintain detention, demonstrates active participation in the conspiracy.

3. Co-Principals Liability
Under Article 17 of the Revised Penal Code, when conspiracy is established, the act of one conspirator is deemed the act of all co-conspirators. Each member of the conspiracy incurs equal criminal liability as a principal by direct participation, regardless of the extent or nature of their individual physical involvement in every overt act. Consequently, a conspirator who maintains the victim's illegal detention is liable as a co-principal for the special complex crime, even if absent during the sexual assaults.
